FURY EXTREME

September 1st, 2002

Flying the Extreme:

Back out to the field again, I'm really excited about the Fury. I always wanted one since I first flew one back in April. I'm starting to get a few circuits in now that I have several tanks through the motor. She flies very well and controls are very crisp. I flew the first tank today without the canopy, making sure everything is holding together and then on the second flight today I flew with the canopy on and I really like the way it looks in the air. I REALLY like the white RotorSport 700mm carbon blades, the rotor disk is so easy to see in the air. I think it's a keeper.

Here she is, spooling up for the maiden flight.

You can see the huge tail rotor disk in the photo above. Those are NHP 105mm blades and they work great! The motor is still running very rich and I'm still running my first gallon through the motor. I did add 2 ounces of Klotz Synthetic Racing Oil in the first gallon of 15% Cool Power, next gallon will get one ounce and the third will be straight CP15%. I have the needle at 1=3/4 out now on the main. It is still plenty rich I'm guessing I will be going down to 1-1/2 turns or less on the main once the breakin is finished and I can safely lean the motor. Right now the mid range on mine if quite rich I'm hoping that as I lean the top end the mid range leans out just a little more, I don't want the middle lean. With the 91 I will be using alot more of mid throttle than on a 61 ship due to the power of the 91. (Did you notice the hawk flying cover for me? It's a Red Tail Hawk)

Just cruising around, the 15% smokes almost like 30% with the extra oil in it for breaking in the engine.

Yep, that's me... pulling out the antenna for a quick flight!

He's another shot of me holding my new Fury . Sorry about the picture, I wasn't tring to be rude by turning away from the camera but someone called my name and I turned to look when Brad snapped this picture.
There's that Red Tail Hawk CAPing for me again.

More to come soon!
