FURY EXTREME

August 31st, 2002:

OUT AT THE FIELD:

Finally got time to get the Fury out to the field this morning to get some fuel through the motor and test the control systems. First thing I notice was as soon as fuel hit the motor my starter struggled bigtime. I had to loosen the glow plug and spin it over to get the excess fuel out so it would turn over. This happened twice today so I don't know if this starter will cut it. I have a Dynatron I need to solder some banana plug on it for my starter. I also may go with a 24 v. system if it doesn't get better. Maybe the Dynatron will turn the 91 over with one 12 gelcel, if not, I'll go with 24v over 2 gelcells. I didn't get any pics of it flying today, I didn't have the canopy on for my tests so wasn't really interested in pics of it naked... Below are a few pics of it out at my flying field today:

Nice eh?

My new Fury sitting beside my somewhat jealous Raptor 70.

Skinny thing isn't it? Hard to believe all the power within...

I really like the Hatori SB-15 pipe. I can't believe how frikkin quiet this thing is, you just wouldn't believe a big block is sitting in there when you hear it running, and at hover the engine sounds like it has no load, just humms along and didn't even get hot. I was amazed how cool the system ran on the first few tanks.

More to come soon!
