The photo above shows Len Mount's Kiowa OH58 turbine helicopter staged for a flight at the 2003 Heli HeatWave. Len's flight was delayed just before it was scheduled to begin.
An X-Cell went down in the tall grass surrounding the flying field, it was hot and dry and unfortunately a fire broke out. It totally cooked the X-Cell, yes it was a graphite one to boot...
Anyway, the ship was a total loss and the fire quickly spread and I managed to get a few dramatic shots of the Kiowa with the fire raging behind it. I laid on the ground and used a Fuji digital camera to optically zoom in about 6X to give it a nice effect. Len liked the pic so much, he asked permission to use it on his website to promote his scale bodies. You can visit Len's website and take a look for yourself what kind of scale helicopters this man creates. He is a master builder and designer and if you've watched any James Bond movies you've probably seen his work, yea he's da man...

Welcome to my R/C Helicopter Site. This website is just an extension of the R/C helicopter hobby to me, I do it because I enjoy it. It is my hope that I can help someone in the hobby or inspire someone who is considering joining this wonderful hobby.
Click through the site and have a look. This site will always be under some form of development so there may be an occasional dead link or something similar. Please bear with me, I will try to keep everything in working order.
Enjoy!
